Marriott AC Hotel and Office Building

TGRWA provided structural engineering services for the $30Mconversion of the existing historic 1895 building into a hotel and an office building in the downtown area. The 215,000 sq. ft., 7-story building was separated into a 130 guestroom Marriott AC Hotel and an office building by removing the atrium that had joined them. The existing masonry and wood framed “loft style” structure had a landscaped alley concrete framed structure installed between the separated buildings. Renovations included new stairs and elevators, new MEP systems, new rooftop platforms, various structural reinforcements and repairs, and restoration of the original masonry façade. The building features retail space and basement parking.
