Canopy by Hilton & Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Loop

TGRWA provided structural engineering services for the $100M conversion of and vertical addition to the existing historic 1904 office building into a dual-branded hotel in the downtown Loop neighborhood. The 240,000 sq. ft., 16-story, 350 guestroom hotel is a Canopy by Hilton & Hilton Garden Inn hotel brand, including the new 20,000 sq. ft. 1-story rooftop addition. The existing clay tile and steel framed structure was renovated with new steel framing, along with the new steel framed structure addition. Renovations included new and modified elevators and stairs, two new hotel lobbies, and new MEP systems. The hotel features bar/restaurant spaces, a rooftop terrace, and new exterior canopies.
